# How to Use BioDrive® with the Control Box

BioDrive® takes your Shiftwave experience to the next level by syncing the vibrations in the chair with your own heartbeat and breath. Here’s how to set it up and get the most out of it when using the Control Box.

### **Step 1: Connect the Pulse Oximeter**

- Make sure the **pulse oximeter** is attached to the control knob.
- Place your finger inside the sensor.
- Check the control box display, you should see your **pulse** and **blood oxygen levels** being read.

### **Step 2: Activate BioDrive®**

- Press the **BioDrive® button** on the control box.
- This starts the dynamic biofeedback loop that connects your heartbeat and breath to the vibrations.

### **Step 3: Let the Chair Sync to Your Heart**

- Once BioDrive® is on, the chair’s vibrations will **match your heart rhythm**:  
    - Faster heart rate → stronger vibrations

- - Slower heart rate → gentler vibrations

### **Step 4: Drive the Vibrations with Your Breath**

- Take **steady inhales and exhales**.
- Inhale → the vibrations rise
- Exhale → the vibrations fall
- Give it a few breaths to lock in.

This process is called *respiratory sinus arrhythmia (RSA)* and it’s the key to creating heart–breath coherence with Shiftwave.

### **Step 5: Pair with Any Protocol Audio**

- When BioDrive® is on, it **replaces the vibration track** of any protocol with your own heart-informed pattern.
- You can still enjoy the audio of any protocol alongside BioDrive®.

### **Step 6: Use Regularly for Best Results**

- The more often you use BioDrive®, the more your body learns to enter this state of coherence.
- Over time, this can improve your **Heart Rate Variability (HRV)** and train your nervous system to shift into recovery more easily.

#### **Important Note**

When **BioDrive® is activated**, the Pulse Pressure Waves will **only work if the pulse oximeter is on your finger**.

 If you want the chair to run Protocols normally without using the pulse oximeter, make sure to **deactivate BioDrive® mode** by pressing the BioDrive® button again.
