How to Use BioDrive® with the iPad App (Shiftwave Pro)
If you're new to HRV training or BioDrive®, start with gentle intensity and short sessions. Let your body become familiar with the feedback experience gradually.
Quick Usage Guide
- Select a BioDrive®-enabled protocol
From the Explore BioDrive® category, choose a session. If you're new to BioDrive®, start with HRV BioDrive® Intro. - Attach the pulse sensor
Place your index or middle finger into the blue pulse sensor (either hand is fine - use the one closest to the control knob for comfort). - Check for a clear signal
Look for a smooth pulse waveform on your screen and confirm the indicator shows "Pulse data is valid." - Start the protocol
BioDrive® activates automatically during your session. You'll hear a chime when it begins - typically after a short opening sequence or after the narrative content has concluded. If watching your screen: the indicator box for BioDrive® will change color with a message "BioDrive is Engaged" when BioDrive® activates. - Session completion
Near the end of your session, you'll hear a second chime when BioDrive® deactivates and the session returns to pre-programmed vibration.

Tips for a Good Session
Focus on breath-heart coherence
Breathe slowly and steadily - about six seconds in, six seconds out (roughly 5-7 breaths per minute). As your heart responds, notice vibration rising with each inhale and softening on exhale.
Aim for a smooth transition where vibration fades completely at the end of your exhale and begins to rise naturally as you inhale again. This coherence between breath and vibration is the essence of BioDrive® practice.
Stay curious
Explore how changes in breath speed, posture, or emotional state affect the vibration rhythm. This may help develop interoceptive awareness.
Give it time
Some users sense alignment quickly. For others, it takes several sessions. Allow your experience to unfold naturally.
Common Issues and Troubleshooting Information
Vibration stopped unexpectedly?
Check that the pulse sensor is secure and your hand is still. Reinsert your finger and pause if needed.
Can't find the rhythm?
Focus on establishing slow, steady breathing (6 seconds in, 6 seconds out) first. The feedback will become clearer as your breathing stabilizes.
Signal feels erratic or delayed?
Cold fingers, movement, or irregular breathing may affect the signal. Try warming your hands or adjusting your position.
Vibration feels too strong or too weak?Adjust intensity in your app settings. BioDrive® allows a wide range - find what feels supportive. If problems persist, discontinue use and consult a healthcare provider.
