How do I set up Shiftwave Pro?

Setting up Shiftwave Pro is simple and only takes a few minutes:

  1. Locate the Quick Setup Guide included with your Shiftwave package. Look for the iPad QR and scan it with your iPad camera.
  2. Download the Shiftwave iPad App.
  3. Choose the right option on the app:
    1. If you're an existing customer and upgrading from a Control Box (black) to iPad-Controlled Shiftwave with ShiftLink - choose "Upgrade with ShiftLink"
    2. If you're a new customer: choose "First-Time Shiftwave Setup"
  4. Follow setup instructions on iPad App.
    1. Download mobile app using the instructions and the QR code in the iPad app
    2. Once downloaded, create an account on mobile app
    3. Follow the instructions to add profile on iPadCreate your personal profile in the iPad app using our Shiftwave mobile companion app. It enables you to track all your usage and session data.
  5. Select your profile or use Guest Mode to browse through protocols. Sync all protocols once when you access it for the first time.
  6. Pair your headphones (Bluetooth or wired) and make sure Shiftwave chair is powered ON.
  7. Select a protocol and press "Tap to Start" button to begin your first session.

Important: Once you’ve completed setup and synched all protocols, you can use Shiftwave Pro even without an active internet connection by choosing the offline mode option.

What are the iPad requirements for Shiftwave Pro?

To run Shiftwave Pro, you’ll need an iPad with a USB-C port (minimum requirement).

  • We highly recommend the latest iPad Air 11" with the M-series processor for the best performance
  • Other iPad models with USB-C might work, however at this point we do not provide support with them
  • IMPORTANT: Older iPads with Lightning connectors aren’t compatible. Adapters won’t support the necessary data and power connection.

Do I need a docking station?

A docking station is optional. You’ll only need one if you plan to use wired headphones and want to charge your ipad at the same time, since most USB-C iPads don’t include a headphone jack.

Can I use wired or Bluetooth headphones?

Yes, both work with Shiftwave Pro.

  • Bluetooth headphones: Connect through your iPad’s Bluetooth settings before starting the Shiftwave app.
  • Wired headphones: Use provided audio + charging adapter or a powered USB-C docking station.

Do I need internet access?

You’ll need internet access for the initial setup:

  • Downloading the Shiftwave apps (iPad + mobile)
  • Creating your account
  • Downloading new protocols or app updates

Once setup is complete, all sessions can be run offline, no constant Wi-Fi needed.

Can I use my control box after upgrading to Pro?

Yes. Your original control box remains compatible as a standalone system.
It can’t run simultaneously with the ShiftLink, so you’ll need to disconnect one before using the other.

What is Guest Mode?

Guest Mode allows users to experience Shiftwave without tracking usage and session data by eliminating the need to create an account or adding your personal profile through the mobile companion app.

About Guest sessions:

  • Do not store HRV or Mini Lab data
  • Are ideal for demos, clinics, shared environments, or any in-frequent/one-time users
  • Let friends or family try Shiftwave without affecting your data
