Troubleshooting: iPad Won’t Connect to ShiftLink

If your iPad app shows “Waiting for connection” or can’t find the ShiftLink, follow these steps.

Step 1: Check Power & Cables

  1. Make sure the chair is powered on (wall outlet secure).
  2. Confirm the USB-C cable from ShiftLink → iPad is fully seated (click/firm fit).
  3. Unplug and firmly re-seat both ends of the cable.

Step 2: Restart the Connection

  1. Force-quit the Shiftwave iPad app.
  2. Power off the ShiftLink (disconnect USB-C), wait 10 seconds, reconnect.
  3. Open the Shiftwave iPad app again.

Step 3: Verify Bluetooth (ShiftLink pairing)

  1. On iPad: Settings → Bluetooth = On.
  2. If you see a stale ShiftLink entry, Forget This Device, then relaunch the app to re-pair automatically.

Step 4: Environment Check

  • Keep the iPad within arm’s reach of the ShiftLink.
  • Remove metal objects that could interfere with wireless signals.

After You Fix It

Start a short protocol to confirm connection is stable.
