Troubleshooting: Headphone Volume Stuck or Resetting
If your headphone volume keeps jumping back to 70, or you can’t adjust it with the cable, don’t worry, this usually comes down to how the headphones are connected.
Why This Happens
Your Shiftwave system is designed to work with the included headphones and the cable that has an inline volume control. If you use a different cable or headphones without that control, the system defaults the volume back to 70.
Step 1: Check the Cable
- Open your headphone case, it includes two cables.
- Make sure you’re using the cable with the inline volume control.
- If you’re using the other cable (without the control), the volume will reset to 70.
Step 2: Check the Connection
- The inline volume control should be positioned closer to the headphones, not the control box.
- If it’s flipped, the volume may not work properly.
Step 3: Using Headphones Without Inline Control
If you prefer to use the other cable or your own personal headphones (without the inline control), you can still adjust the volume manually:
- On the control box, go to Settings.
- Find Volume Control.
- Switch from “Shiftwave Headphones” to “Personal Headphones.”
- You can now use the on-screen slider to set your volume.
